The WBT Community Fund
What's the Community Fund?
No Money? No Problem. If access to free clothing or goods would improve your life — even just a bit — you’re welcome to apply. This support comes from fellow Witch Bitch Thrift customers who want to share what they can. No stress, no judgment — just community taking care of each other.
Witch Bitch Thrift has a mutual aid program where customers donate shop credit towards The Community Fund that will then be used to provide free access to clothing and secondhand goods to the local community.
How to receive support:
🔸 Fill out the Community Fund application below.
🔸 After the application is submitted, our team will review it and, based on how much is available in the fund, we will reach out to those that have been elected to receive credit.
🔸 We will specifically be prioritizing those that identify as BIPOC, Queer, Trans, etc.
🔸 Recipients will be able to use these funds towards any second hand items in the store.
How to Contribute:
🔸 This fund will be entirely driven by donations, mainly through our Buying process:
🔸 When you sell your clothes & goods to WBT, select "Donate Credit to the Community Fund" as your payout method, instead of receiving cash or store credit for yourself.
🔸 CASH CONTRIBUTIONS: you can donate to the community fund by purchasing a Community Fund Gift Card! Click HERE and scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Community Fund Donation option.
Please note that this would not be a tax deductible donation.
Why are we doing this?
Back in 2024, everyone at Witch Bitch felt a deepening desire and need to further connect with our New Haven community in a meaningful way. Our values have always been on the forefront of the way we conduct business but with the state of the world as we find it now, we wanted to make good on some ideas we have been working on for quite a while.
We have heard so many members of the community mention that they bring their clothing to us specifically because they trust us to help give those pieces to members of our community that will love and cherish them. We are honored by this trust and want to do the best we can to foster this relationship so that we can continue to grow connections within New Haven.
Whether someone is in need of gender affirming clothing, professional attire for job interviews, a coat for the winter, etc., it is our hope that the pieces that are here will be able to find their perfect homes, regardless of monetary ability.
The Community Fund is the first - of hopefully many - mutual aid programs that we will be sponsoring in order to ensure our community feels as supported as they have made us feel since we were established.
We hope this project is as exciting to you as it is to us and thank you, from the bottom of our witchy little hearts, for helping us to make this a reality. We couldn't do this without you.
